Product Overview
The AX100i is a rackmountable storage system enclosure,
3.5 inches (2U) high, that contains three to twelve Serial
Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) disk drives. The AX100i
uses a gigabit ethernet port as its iSCSI interconnect interface
to host initiators. Navisphere® Express software manages
the AX100i from any qualified host on a shared 10/100Mbps
management port. Sophisticated RAID (redundant array of
independent disk) 5 and RAID 1/0 technology and data caching
prevent data loss in case of component failure. Redundant
hardware options provide levels of high availability usually
restricted to much larger high-end storage systems.
Access between hosts and virtual disks on the AX100i can
be secured by enabling Challenge Handshake Authentication
Protocol (CHAP). CHAP security allows for array-based authentication
or mutual CHAP security.
